{"id":7,"date":"2007-10-24T00:12:36","date_gmt":"2007-10-23T23:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bob-ak.com\/?p=5"},"modified":"2007-10-24T00:12:36","modified_gmt":"2007-10-23T23:12:36","slug":"lost-wisdom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bob-ak.com\/?p=7","title":{"rendered":"Lost Wisdom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the title of a book I&#8217;m reading by an Iranian author called Abbas Milani who is based in the US.<\/p>\n<p>The sub-title is &#8220;Rethinking Modernity in Iran&#8221; &#8211; the book deals with  the history of Iran and how\/why Iran and its people rejected modernism (I&#8217;m learning about this!) even though the Persian empire around 2000 years ago embraced modernism and set forth an example which was followed by the Greco-Roman thinkers.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve only covered the first 2 chapters and I can say right now that I&#8217;ll need to re-read it to fully understand some of the passages.<\/p>\n<p>Think I&#8217;ll write more on this in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Over and out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the title of a book I&#8217;m reading by an Iranian author called Abbas Milani who is based in the US.
