Yuri Bezmenov, former KGB member interview in 1985
March 11th, 2009
Is this fake or set-up by the CIA? Or does this man really think he’s telling the truth? He seems pretty convinced and backs up his arguments pretty well. I think what he’s saying doesn’t solely apply to the old USSR – it can clearly be said about the actions of the current regime in the USA. Judge for yourselves.

Yuri/Tomas was for real. I say was because I was told by Ed Griffin recently that he passed away about ten years ago.
I knew Yuri and followed his activities from about 1985 to the mid 1990’s. He and his two lovely young children stayed at our home in Denver while he was on a speaking tour for the JBS. We helped finance his speaking tours and I drove him around on occasion.
We saw some of his original documents, pictures, slides and still have his two books which he authored on Novosti and Soviet Disinformation Techniques. He was a genuine and sincere gentleman and fluent in numerous languages. He was married to a Filipino woman. We videotaped several hours of discussions with him which I still possess but cannot view due to the 3/4″ format they are in.
I had emailed Ed Griffin (freedomforce.com) in an
attempt to contact Yuri, and remind him that now that communism is in America, it was time for him to move to Antarctica and live with the penguins, as he used to joke.
I have considered recently putting the unedited copies of our interviews on youtube but haven’t got that done.

As a followup to the CIA or Fake question about Yuri Bezmenov. He was contacted by the CIA and debriefed as a step to defecting to the west, but although they said they would help him get his message out to the American public, they never came through. He worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Co. but the pro-soviet and leftist collaborators made his life difficult by complaning to the management that he was sowing the seeds of dissension with the Soviets and the Canadian and American establishment sympathized with their Russian friends. Phil Donahue/Vladimir Pozner team were also avid opponents of Yuri. Yuri had photos of himself and Posner when they were in KGB School together and were roommates for a while. Pozner is now on the Executive Committee of the Inspired Leadership Awards for Performance Theater Foundation, and is now president of The Academy of Russian Television. He was a KGB disinformation specialist just as was Yuri. The difference is that Yuri really defected while Posner’s partnership with western media was a CIA/KGB sponsored cover used to present the socialist agenda in an entertaining and friendly light according to Yuri.
Yuri’s public condemnation of Posner got him threatened with assaination on a couple of occasions. I gave him a Walther PPK for his and his children’s safety after a car attempted to run them over while crossing the street in front of their hotel.
